§ 5.4. Street lights.

Street lights shall be provided and installed:
(a)

Along arterial or collector streets;

(b)

In all multiple family, hotel, commercial and industrial districts;

(c)

In such other locations as are found by the department of public works to require such lighting in the interests of safety and security for persons, property or traffic.

Such lighting shall be provided and installed as set forth in the Public Works Design Standards Manual, as approved by the council of the City of Virginia Beach. The recorder subdivider shall pay to the city all costs involved in installation and all costs to be incurred during the first year of operation following installation, upon receipt of a certified bill.
