§ 1-8. Stormwater pollution prevention plan; content of plan.

  • A.

    The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is not required to be submitted for review and approval, however, it is a requirement of the VSMP and general permit and will be reviewed during inspections. Specific components of the SWPPP, as required by section 1-6 will be reviewed.

    B.

    The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) shall include the content specified by Section 9VAC25-870-54, but not limited to, an approved erosion and sediment control plan, an approved stormwater management plan, a pollution prevention plan for regulated land disturbing activities and a description of any additional control measures necessary to address a TMDL if required.

    C.

    The SWPPP must also comply with the requirements and general information set forth in Section 9VAC25-880-70, Section II [stormwater pollution prevention plan] of the general permit.

    D.

    The SWPPP shall be amended by the operator whenever there is a change in design, construction, operation, or maintenance that has a significant effect on the discharge of pollutants to state waters which is not addressed by the existing SWPPP.

    E.

    The SWPPP must be maintained by the operator at a central location onsite. If an onsite location is unavailable, notice of the SWPPP's location must be posted near the main entrance at the construction site. Operators shall make the SWPPP available for public review in accordance with Section II of the general permit, either electronically or in hard copy.
