§ 23-36. Purchase of junk, secondhand articles, etc., from minors.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful and a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person, whether licensed or unlicensed, to purchase, barter or exchange or in any manner obtain, from any person under the age of eighteen (18) years, any kind of secondhand articles, junk, rags, metals or other like commodities.

    (b)

    In addition to any punishment that may be imposed upon conviction for a violation of this section, upon such conviction of any pawnbroker, junk dealer or secondhand dealer, the judge of a court of competent jurisdiction may, at his discretion, revoke the license of the offender.
