§ 9.2. Modification of standards.

  • The city council may modify design standards or other requirements of these regulations in order to preserve noteworthy features or otherwise enhance the amenity of neighborhoods, but such modification shall be made only upon findings that public purposes of these or other applicable regulations would be met to at least an equivalent degree by such modification. Where such modification is granted, the city council may attach such conditions and safeguards as are deemed necessary to protect general public interest or the character of the neighborhood, and may require a guarantee or bond to assure compliance.
